Protected Bands Relevant to GMRT

Since GMRT (see section 2.2) mainly operates at low radio frequencies, it is difficult to get a RFI (radio frequency interference) free band for the astronomical observations. However, the frequency bands shown in table 1.1 are protected for radio astronomy observations by the International Telecommunications Union regulations and are hence used also for GMRT bands.
