The details of pre-gtac16 tests from April 23 to 29:

At each frequency band (including the different sub-bands at L band), the following tests should be conducted:

1. Feed rotation and pointing on both axes
The Pointing output of Pre Gtac at all frequencies
2. After loading these pointing offsets, one more round of grid pointing on both axes is to be done and the details to be sent to Nimisha, Vasant and Subhashis (needed at 150 and 244 MHz also). This is to estimate beam pattern.
The Beam Pattern After loading the pointing offsets
3. matmon output to check fringe status
The Matmon output of Pre Gtac at all frequencies
4. polarisation swap/unswap test (to check if any antenna has swap and also poor isolation cases)

Scan 0: all antennas unswap (10 mins)
Scan 1: one csq antenna swapped (10 mins)
Scan 2: one arm antenna swapped (10 mins)

5. 30to1 deflection on CasA/CygA/Crab as available.

6. G/Tsys using pulsar console

Pre GTAC Results of G/Tsys at 325 MHz band

Pre GTAC Results of G/Tsys at 610 MHz band

7. Record about one hour data on a calibrator such as 3C286/3C48/3C147 - run rantsol on the data and then plot the gains using the programme gain.plot

8. Run GDP and check for bad baselines and any other problems

If any problems are found from the data, callsheets should be raised.

Pointing model tests on 27th and 28th April

A. At L band:

1. A complete rise-to-set run on 3C286 with alternate scans without and with the pointing model corrections applied to the antennas. For this experiment, it is important to get data from rise to set, hence the antenna should be positioned 5-10 mins before the source rises.

2. GSB data recording in parallel.

B. At 610 MHz:

1. Repeat the above test at 610 MHz also.

2. GSB data recording in parallel.
